Sultan Al Qasimi chairs the meeting of the Permanent Executive Committee of the Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research
Sharjah, December 15 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research, chaired this Monday morning, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah, and Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Global Studies University, the meeting of the Council’s Permanent Executive Committee, at its headquarters in the University City.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah welcomed the attendees, pointing to the key role played by the Council in developing the higher education system and its various institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah, to present an integrated picture that reflects the Emirate’s vision of providing the finest types of science, knowledge and scientific research.
The meeting discussed a number of topics related to universities and academies and ways to develop them and cooperate among them, and advance their scientific and research experience, and the diverse and specialized sciences they provide, which is reflected in the quality and diversity of higher education for students and researchers.
During the meeting, His Highness the President of the Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research approved the organizational structure of the Council, in a way that supports the performance of its important powers. His Highness also approved the Council’s budget for the year 2026.
The meeting discussed the development of the system of scientific studies specialized in artistic fields at the level of the emirate, and the importance of unifying its efforts within an academic university specialized in the arts, through which all specializations are combined and which has advanced capabilities to teach and qualify students and gifted people in the fields of arts.
The meeting also included the Council’s efforts to continuously develop academic programs for higher education institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah, in accordance with the highest international scientific and academic standards, which contributes to raising the level of education in its various specializations.
The meeting discussed the promotion and development of the higher research system in higher education institutions in the emirate, in accordance with scientific conditions and the governance of scientific research in universities and academies, and is reflected in the results and outputs of research.
The meeting was attended, in addition to their Highnesses, by Dr. Mansour bin Nassar, Head of the Legal Department of the Government of Sharjah, Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi, President of the Sharjah Education Academy, Dr. Aisha Bu Khater Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Essam Al-Din Ajami, Director of the University of Sharjah, Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Advisor to the President of the University of Sharjah, and Dr. Muhammad Yousef Bani Yas, Advisor for Higher Education Affairs at the Sharjah Private Education Authority.
