I am not happy with the Saudi team’s performance in the Arab Cup

The coach of the Saudi national football team, the Frenchman Hervé Renard, revealed before the expected confrontation against the UAE national team tomorrow, Thursday, in the match to determine third and fourth places in the Arab Cup tournament held in Doha, that he is committed to his current contract with “Al-Akhdar” and will continue his work until its end, stressing that he will leave if he is informed of the end of his mission.

Renard said: “I have a contract with the Saudi national team, and I will respect it until its end. If I am told that my work has been terminated, I will leave for another place. This is normal in the world of football, and it is not my decision.”

The Saudi national team coach admitted his dissatisfaction with his team’s performance in the Arab Cup, considering that the next participation in the 2026 World Cup will be different, in terms of preparation and ambitions.

Renard said during the introductory press conference for the match, which was held today, Wednesday: “We realize that we did not succeed in qualifying for the final match in the Arab Cup.”

Renard wondered about the reasons for the absence of titles for the Saudi national team since 2003, stressing at the same time the need to double the work during the next stage.

The “Al-Akhdar” coach stressed that Saudi football is full of many talents, noting that the next stage requires greater effort to regain championships and achieve the desired results.
