On its International Day, King Abdulaziz Library celebrates the Arabic language
King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh launched a group of cultural events to celebrate on its International Day, which falls on the eighteenth of December every year.
It held a cultural meeting on the evening of Tuesday, December 16, entitled: ( in knowledge spaces, linguistic innovation industry) in partnership with the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language.
Linguistic Education
The following participated in the meeting: Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Amri and Dr. Noura bint Ibrahim Al-Khalaf, Dr. Raeda bint Hassan Al-Maliki, and managed by Eng. Tariq Bamasq.
The participants discussed: modern linguistic policies that enhance the status of the language , and linguistic education between innovation and digital transformation, and the role of language academies in developing a language that interacts with the times, and Arabic in the digital space.
International Arabic Language Day
On the evening of Thursday, December 18, 2025 AD, which corresponds to International Arabic Language Day, the General Supervisor of the King Abdulaziz Public Library opened the exhibition: (The Pulse of Letters), which the library is holding in cooperation with the Saudi Society for Fine Arts (GSFT) in the presence of the guests of honor: the calligrapher Nasser Al-Maimon and the calligrapher Muhammad. Al-Ajlan, and the visual artist Nasser Al-Mousa.
The exhibition includes a group of paintings that highlight the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy, its types, and its many artistic forms. It also includes a group of plastic calligraphy paintings that transformed the Arabic letters into icons with multiple connotations, drawn with mastery and outstanding beauty. The exhibition continues until the evening of Saturday, December 20th. At the library on International Arabic Language Day, where the Children’s Book Club offers a special gift to its subscribers on the occasion of this day, during the period between December 16-25, 2025.
This gift was represented in providing various and discounted packages for different ages between 2-15 years, which are packages: discovery, imagination, leadership, and innovation, in order to strengthen the relationship between the child and the book, bring them closer together, and deliver the appropriate and interesting book to the child’s hand, from Here.
Mobile learning resources buses also hosted on Thursday evening, December 18, between 5-7 p.m., the children of the (Insan) Association in the Oasis Park in Riyadh.
