The Sri Lankan President thanks the UAE for the relief support it continues to provide to those affected by the floods in his country

Today, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received a phone call from the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, during which he expressed his thanks and appreciation for the relief support that the UAE continues to provide to those affected by the floods and landslides resulting from the heavy rains that his country witnessed.
During the call, His Highness expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the Sri Lankan people for the victims of the floods, wishing Sri Lanka and its people safety from all harm.
The UAE’s response stems from its humanitarian approach in quickly extending a helping hand to those affected by natural disasters and crises around the world, with the aim of mitigating their repercussions and supporting recovery efforts.
The UAE launched an urgent response through the Joint Operations Command, the Emirates International Aid Agency, and the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, which included implementing search and rescue operations in the affected areas by search and rescue teams from the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority, in addition to delivering urgent relief aid of basic food supplies and necessary shelter supplies to those affected by the floods.
