“Ladies Arab” in Sharjah next February.. Taekwondo and rowing, new, eighth edition

The eighth edition of the Arab Clubs Games for Women will be held in Sharjah from the second to the 10th of next February, under the patronage of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, and with the broad participation of Arab clubs and players.

The new edition witnesses the addition of Taekwondo with an international classification (G1) and beach rowing for the first time, in addition to the previously approved games, in a step that reflects the development of the tournament and expands the base of Arab women’s participation.

Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi stressed that the tournament has become a leading model in empowering Arab women athletically, and a supportive platform for developing talent and enhancing professionalism, noting that Sharjah provided all the organizational and logistical requirements to ensure the success of the event.

As part of the preparations, a delegation from the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, headed by Sheikha Hayat Al Khalifa, inspected training and competition facilities in various cities and regions of Sharjah, and praised the level of readiness and advanced infrastructure.

For her part, Sheikha Hayat Al Khalifa confirmed that the next edition represents a new episode of Arab excellence, and reflects Sharjah’s vision of linking sports, culture and development, while Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Anzi indicated that the tournament has become an Arab platform that enhances the status of women’s sports within its cultural and humanitarian framework.

In turn, Hanan Mohammed Al Mahmoud explained that Sharjah’s support for women’s sports comes within a strategic approach to investing in people and building capabilities, while Moza Al Shamsi stressed that the excellence of the tournament is renewed in each edition through developing programs and services and providing an integrated experience for female athletes and participating delegations.

The Arab Women’s Club Games are the largest Arab gathering for women’s sports, having witnessed a significant expansion in the number of participants and teams during the past editions.
