Thursday: The launch of the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2025 in Malham

It will be held at the club’s headquarters in Malham, north of the city of Riyadh, during the period from December 25, 2025 until January 10, 2026, amid wide anticipation from participants, visitors, and those interested in the ancient heritage of falconry.

witnesses The festival, in its most developed form since its inception, falconers competed in 139 rounds, during which 1,012 prizes were awarded with a total value exceeding 38 million riyals, within two main competitions: Al-Malwah (Al-Dawa 400 meters) and Al-Mazayen. The Al-Malwah competition attracts categories of owners, amateurs, professionals, and the elite, with rounds designated for local falconers and others for international falconers.

Components of Saudi Identity

The festival celebrates falconry as one of the components of Saudi identity, as this year it brings together competitors from nine countries, led by falconers from the Gulf countries, in addition to participation from Italy, Ireland and Syria, so that the festival continues to strengthen its global presence after obtaining three records in Guinness World Records as the largest falconry festival in terms of the number of participating falcons.

This year’s festival reflects a great interest in transferring the hobby to future generations, by allocating rounds directed to groups of children and adolescents (falconers of the future), schools and women, in support of the sustainability of falconry and its transmission from generation to generation, and in line with the Kingdom’s goals in enhancing community participation and interest in heritage.

Qualitative competitions

Also. The festival hosts new qualitative competitions, such as the Nova falconry round and another round, which are dedicated to Mongolian falcons.

The festival opens its doors to visitors daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and in addition to the main competitions, it offers a range of diverse experiences, including exhibitions of falconry supplies, and productive families, and

it offers a pavilion "Future falconer" Educational and interactive programs for children, shepherds’ pavilions, and outdoor activities and events that reflect the aesthetics of falconry and its heritage experience.

The King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival confirms its pioneering role in highlighting the heritage of falconry, which has been registered on the UNESCO list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2010, and enhancing the Kingdom’s presence as a global home for falcons and falconers, through a competitive destination that combines hobby and heritage, and provides, over 17 days, a unique experience for visitors, falconers, and those interested.
