The Asian Youth Sailing Cup kicks off on December 25 at Al Hamriyah Sports Club

Sharjah, December 22nd, WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council, the Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club will organize, during the period from 25th to 30th of this December, the Asian Cup of Modern Sailing for Youth, in cooperation with the Emirates Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation.
His Excellency Humaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Hamriyah Club, said during a press conference held this evening at the club hotel that hosting this continental event is part of the development witnessed by the sailing system, starting with the club’s adoption of an international training center, through to hosting and organizing Arab and international tournaments and camps. He praised the fruitful cooperation with the Emirates Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation, the Sharjah Sports Council, and the Hamriyah Municipality, in addition to the sponsors “Ajmal Makan” and “Asas Steel.”
For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Al Obaidli, Secretary General of the UAE Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation, explained that organizing the Asian Cup for Modern Sailing for Youth is an important milestone in the game’s journey as it is the first continental championship organized after a 6-year hiatus due to the pandemic, indicating that this reflects the great confidence that the Asian Sailing Federation has in the country and the Al Hamriyah Club and their ability to organize continental championships according to the highest technical and organizational standards.
The press conference was attended by His Excellency Muhammad Al-Hussan, Secretary General of the Sharjah Sports Council, His Excellency Mubarak Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, Salem Al Khayal, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Championship, members of the Board of Directors of Al Hamriyah Club, representatives of sponsors, and a number of officials and media.
