The tenth edition of the Al Salam Cycling Championship begins tomorrow

Under the patronage and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and with the organization of the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, the tenth edition of the Al Salam Cycling Championship will begin tomorrow, with the holding of the Emirati men’s amateur race under the slogan “Security and Security”, which extends for a distance of 158 km, and will start from the Dubai Police Academy all the way to the Al Marmoom Reserve in Saih Al Salam.
The race witnessed a high demand for registrations, given the championship’s status as the largest sporting event of its kind for community races in the world in terms of diversity and financial prizes.
Director General of the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee, Omair bin Juma Al Falasi, confirmed that choosing this route comes as a translation of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, from which the Peace Cycling Championship initiative was launched to celebrate national institutions and prominent cultural and heritage landmarks in Dubai. The routes are designed to provide the opportunity for riders to pass through various areas in Dubai, and cooperation has previously been done with Prominent national institutions, led by the Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, and the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, in addition to the special race coinciding with hosting Expo 2020 Dubai, and the paths that extended to cut through the heart of Dubai all the way to the Hatta area as well, while the conclusion of the Security and Safety Race will be after the start from the Dubai Police Academy, and the coronation will take place in the Al Marmoom Reserve in Saih Al Salam, the most prominent destination for lovers of sports, specifically bicycles.
Al Falasi pointed out that the Emirati men’s amateur race is characterized by its rising levels annually, and the strength of competition stemming from the keenness of all participants to climb the podium, which confirms the goals of the Ladder Championship, which seeks to motivate everyone to practice this type of sport that promotes the adoption of physical activity as a healthier and happier lifestyle, and that these competitions contribute to attracting more practitioners of cycling from society.
The current edition of the championship is held under the slogan “Ten Years of Achievements and Success,” as this year it celebrates a decade since the launch of the championship, which has become a shining mark on the map of community sporting events, and a destination for those seeking excellence and creativity in cycling, in addition to its contributions to highlighting Dubai’s landmarks to the world.
The Supreme Organizing Committee approved the holding of 4 main races in the tenth session, as registration is currently continuing for the elite race, which bears the slogan “The Race for the Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai,” which is scheduled to be held on January 18 next, and for a distance of 200 km, so that the start for the second year in a row will be from the Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai all the way to the Al Marmoom Reserve in Saih Al Salam. The tenth edition also includes the women’s race on the 25th of the same month, and the conclusion with the desert race on the first of February 2026.
On the other hand, the organizing committee announced the opening of registration for the second year in a row for the photography competition, which is organized in cooperation with the “Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award”, in light of the great success and turnout witnessed in the last edition. The award is an initiative to motivate creative photographers to participate in documenting this pioneering tournament of its kind in community races, and to take pictures that reflect the beauty of Dubai and the strength of the competitions.
It is noteworthy that the tournament is being held in cooperation with a number of strategic partners, including: Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Government Media Office, Dubai Sports Channel, Emirates Cycling Federation (General Governance), and Dubai Film.
