The World Sports Summit is an Emirati message to the world

Hundreds of sports figures, including government officials and stars in various sports, as well as leaders of international federations, investors and decision-makers in the sports and business sectors, flocked to participate in the World Sports Summit, which is being held under the patronage and directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and organized by the Dubai Sports Council, and continues until tomorrow in Madinat Jumeirah, under the slogan “We unite the world through sports.”
The summit was opened with a speech by Khalfan Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, in which he stressed that the World Sports Summit represents a large and important event, reflected in the quality of attendance and the amount of momentum that Dubai is witnessing as a global center for the sports industry.
Belhoul said: “The basic message that we are keen to convey is the importance of investing in the blessings of the UAE, which has today become an attractive country for investors, athletes and tourists alike.”
He added: “What we are witnessing today is the result of a leadership vision spanning more than 50 years, during which the state was able to achieve qualitative achievements that some may believe would take hundreds of years.”
The Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council pointed to the strategic dimension of sports, explaining that “sport is no longer just competition inside stadiums, but has become an effective diplomatic tool that intersects with politics and economics, and contributes to building bridges between peoples and enhancing cultural communication.”
Belhoul concluded his statements by emphasizing that “the summit raises many positive issues in addition to challenges, and through it we seek to preserve Dubai’s gains and enhance its global position, in a way that serves the future of sports at the local and international levels.”
