Dubai Land Department cadres and employees donate blood in support of the “My Blood for My Homeland” campaign

The Dubai Land Department organized a blood donation event as part of the “My Blood for My Homeland” campaign, in a humanitarian initiative that reflects the department’s commitment to supporting national efforts aimed at enhancing community health and establishing a culture of community and volunteer work.
The event witnessed a remarkable turnout from the department’s staff, a practical manifestation of their keenness to support patients and enhance blood stocks, thus contributing to meeting urgent medical needs in various health facilities.
The department stressed that this initiative stems from a firm belief that social responsibility is an integral part of its institutional role, and a natural extension of its vision that places people at the heart of its priorities, noting that blood donation is one of the highest forms of humanitarian giving, because of its direct impact in saving lives and supporting patients, stressing that the role of the individual in such initiatives is no less important than the role of institutions, as community awareness and participation constitute the basic foundation for the sustainability of these humanitarian efforts.
The department added that participation in the “My Blood for My Homeland” campaign reflects the importance of solidarity between government agencies and community members in initiatives that make a real difference in people’s lives, and contribute to consolidating the values of giving, solidarity, and community cohesion, which are among the most prominent features that distinguish UAE society. It also stressed its continued keenness to encourage its employees to engage in health and humanitarian initiatives, in a way that enhances the culture of volunteering, and embodies the institutional values of DLD in serving the community and supporting the quality of life.
The “My Blood for My Homeland” campaign is organized in partnership between Al Ameen Service, the Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Health, and Emarat Al Youm newspaper, and aims to provide blood units to treat patients, in addition to providing the necessary blood units to the Thalassemia Center, in addition to promoting the culture of blood donation in society.
The campaign seeks to attract new donors, especially those who are donating for the first time, with the aim of expanding the blood donation center’s database, especially those with rare blood types. It also focuses on encouraging young people from 18 to 30 years of age to donate, to promote the concept of blood donation as part of a healthy lifestyle, in addition to encouraging various governmental and private agencies to participate in donation campaigns.
