Under the patronage of the Ruler of Sharjah.. the launch of the 13th Sharjah Scout Theater Festival


Sharjah, 30 December / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the activities of the 13th session of the Sharjah Scout Theater Festival kicked off yesterday at the headquarters of the Sharjah Scouts Commission, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture, Ahmed Burahima, Director of Theater Administration at the Department of Culture, Director of the Festival, and Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Deputy General Supervisor of the Sharjah Scouts Commission, along with a number of… Scout leaders, families and friends of participants.
The festival’s activities are held in a space prepared in the form of a scout camp in the courtyard of the Commission’s headquarters, which reflects the identity and nature of the event and its scouting nature, and enhances its interactive atmosphere.
The show’s jury, which includes Dr. Muhammad Youssef from the UAE, Magdy Mahfouz from the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Yahya Al-Badri from the Republic of Iraq, watched four theatrical performances on the first day.
The Sharjah Scouts Commission Group (A) presented the inaugural show entitled “All Swimming in an Orbit”, while the second show was entitled “Beware… It is a Moment” presented by the Sharjah Scouts Group (B), and Group (C) presented its theatrical show “Nightmare”, which addressed the negative effects of being drawn into the “trend” and the fame of social media platforms, showing how a moment of glory can turn into a tragic consequence.
The first day’s performances concluded with the play “Road” presented by Group D, which highlighted the dangers of speed madness among some bikers, and the disastrous consequences of ignoring guidelines and instructions.
The performances, which varied in their techniques between diagnosis, narration, and allegation, and in which seriousness was mixed with a sense of humor, witnessed a remarkable interaction from the audience.
The jury announced the awards for the first day, where the Best Actor Award – which is given to four participants – was won by: Muhammad Anwar Hamza for the play “All in an Orbit They Swim,” Abdullah Ahmed Al Mansouri for “Pay Attention… It’s a Moment,” Yaqoub Youssef Ibrahim for “Nightmare,” and Khaled Fahd for “Tariq.”
Faisal Musa also won the Best Messmer Award for the play “Road,” and the play itself won the Best Treatment of the Idea award, while the Best Idea Award went to the play “Pay Attention… It’s a Moment.”
