Denmark buys American reconnaissance aircraft

The United States has agreed to a $1.8 billion deal to sell Denmark patrol planes, despite renewed tensions after President Donald Trump once again called for control of Greenland.
The US State Department reported that it had approved a request from Denmark to purchase the B-8A patrol and reconnaissance system from Boeing, which will include up to three aircraft.
The State Department explained, in a memorandum to Congress, that the sale “will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving security in a NATO ally, and constitute political stability and economic progress in Europe.”
