Strong competition on the first day of cars "Terrifying hill"
Al Dhafra, 1st January / WAM / The competitions of the first day of the Car Hill Climb Championship concluded yesterday, as part of the activities of the Liwa International Festival 2026, and witnessed strong competition in the electric and hybrid car categories, amid a remarkable audience presence.
The contestant Mohsen bin Hani bin Abdulaziz from the Sultanate of Oman topped the overall standings for the hybrid category, achieving 8.403 seconds, and Ahmed Khalfan Al Mansouri came second with a time of 13.105 seconds.
Contestant Majid Salem Mubarak Salem Al Mansouri won first place in the electric car category, recording 7.343 seconds.
The organizing committee confirmed that the first day’s competitions witnessed a distinctive atmosphere coinciding with the New Year’s celebrations, with the challenges of climbing the hill turning into a festive sporting scene.
