Al Ain flies alone in the league sky.. defeated Al Sharjah with a “Rahimi” goal

Al Ain rose alone at the top of the ADNOC Professional Football League, after achieving a valuable victory over Sharjah with an unanswered goal, today, Friday, in the 11th round competitions.

Al-Zaeem strengthened its position at the top, expanding the difference to six points over its closest pursuers, Al-Wasl and Al-Wahda, after raising its score to 27 points, while Sharjah’s score froze at seven points in 12th place.

The only goal of the match was scored by Moroccan player Hussein Rahimi, who scored ten minutes after the start of the second half.

Al Ain played one of its best matches this season, as its host Al Sharjah did not give time to feel the pulse, as it imposed early pressure with all its lines, and almost opened the scoring through Laba Kodjo after seven minutes had passed, had it not been for the decisive intervention of goalkeeper Adel Al Hosani.

Al-Zaeem continued his offensive push, threatening Sharjah’s goal with a powerful shot fired by Hussein Rahimi, which Al-Hosani blocked and turned into a corner kick.

The home side came close to scoring through Amadou Niang’s header, but the goalpost prevented them from achieving a goal.

Sharjah’s first dangerous chance in the first half came from Caio Lucas alone. The goalkeeper saved him, before the ball bounced to Firas Balarabi, who shot it over the crossbar.

Laba Kodjo later managed to score a wonderful goal, considered one of the most beautiful goals of the season, after he received Abdoulaye Traoré’s cross and shot it directly into the top corner of the goal, but the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology intervened and canceled the goal because the ball crossed the pitch line before being passed by Traoré.

The second half had an ideal start for Al Ain, as it succeeded in quickly translating its advantage into a goal, after Hussein Rahimi fired a creeping shot that landed to the left of the Sharjah goalkeeper.

Al Ain was forced to play the match for more than 12 minutes with ten players after substitute Mohamed Abbas was sent off after receiving two yellow cards, but Sharjah did not take advantage of this deficiency to adjust the result.
