The 10 youngest players in the 2026 World Cup

Promising star Gilberto Moura topped the list of the youngest players participating in the 2026 World Cup finals, after coach Javier Aguirre decided to officially call him up to the Mexico national team roster when he was only 17 years old, to become the most prominent face of a new generation of young football talents expected to shine remarkably in the tournament.
Moura occupies first place among the youngest players, at the age of 17 years and 240 days, ahead of prominent names such as Czech Hugo Sokhorek and German Lennart Karl.
Moura has a wide opportunity to enter the history of his country’s national team, as he may become the youngest Mexican player to participate in a World Cup match, if Aguirre gives him minutes during the tournament, as the previous number goes back to Manuel “Chaquitas” Rosas, who participated in the 1930 World Cup at the age of 18 years and 88 days.
