Senegal wins three wins over Sudan and qualifies for the quarter-finals of the African Cup

The Senegal national team cut the ribbon for qualifying for the quarter-finals in the 35th edition of the African Cup of Nations held in Morocco after defeating Sudan 3-1 at the opening of the Round of 16 competitions, today, Saturday.
The Sudanese national team did not take advantage of its lead with an early goal scored by Amir Abdullah Younis six minutes into the match that was held in Tangier.
Rather, the Teranga Lions responded with a hat-trick scored by Pape Gueye (two goals) and Ibrahim Mbaye in the 29th, 45th + 3rd and 77th minutes.
The Senegalese team qualified for the quarter-finals, awaiting the winner of the Tunisia-Mali match, which will be held later today, Saturday.
The Senegalese team qualified for the knockout rounds after topping the fourth group with 7 points, ahead of the Democratic Republic of Congo on goal difference, while Sudan finished third in the fifth group with 3 points, behind Algeria (9 points) and Burkina Faso (6 points).
