The Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work extends the registration period for its 23rd session until January 31

Sharjah, January 5 / WAM / The Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work announced the extension of the registration period for its twenty-third session until January 31 of this year, as part of its keenness to expand the base of participation and provide more time for those wishing to complete their files and meet the approved conditions and standards.
The extension decision comes in response to the requests of a number of individuals and institutions wishing to compete in the various award categories, in a way that enhances opportunities for positive participation among distinguished volunteer initiatives, and contributes to consolidating the culture of volunteer work and stimulating creativity and innovation in community service.
The award includes 15 categories covering various fields of volunteer, humanitarian and social work, the most prominent of which is the “Role Model Volunteer” award, which is given to individuals and families who represent a distinguished model of community giving, and are nominated by governmental and private agencies, and the “Best Suburb in Volunteer Work” award allocated to suburban and village councils in the Emirate of Sharjah, with the aim of enhancing community interaction and supporting volunteer initiatives at the neighborhood level.
The categories also include the “Excellence in Social Responsibility” award, which aims to motivate organizations of all sizes to adopt innovative social initiatives, and the “Best Volunteer Opportunities Maker” award, which is given to government and private institutions and volunteer teams that present pioneering and sustainable projects in the field of volunteering.
The award also includes categories: “Distinguished Supporter of Volunteer Work,” “Best Volunteer Initiative,” “Record Number for Volunteer Hours,” “University Student Award” for the highest volunteer contributions, “Volunteer Knight Award” for school students, in addition to the “Authenticity Award” for seniors, “Himma Award” for people of determination, “Best Community Entity,” “Best Volunteer Team,” “Best Young Leader for Volunteer Teams,” and “Excellence in Volunteering.” “The specialist.”
Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Secretary General of the Award, confirmed that the Award is witnessing an increasing demand year after year, which reflects the growing awareness of society about the importance of volunteer work and its role in supporting sustainable development.
He added that the award seeks to establish a culture of volunteerism among individuals and institutions, and to encourage initiatives that enhance community cohesion and contribute to building a cohesive society that reflects the vision and approach of the Emirate of Sharjah.
Suad Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Award, confirmed that the 23rd session is characterized by diversity and comprehensiveness, as new categories have been created to keep pace with modern developments and meet the needs of society, pointing out that the evaluation phase will begin immediately after registration closes.
She explained that the award has become an effective platform for highlighting the efforts of individuals and institutions and encouraging innovation and community giving, calling on all individuals, institutions and volunteer teams to participate in the current session.
