Dubai Roads launches Al Ruwayyah Square Project to organize the accommodation of caravans, boats, trailers and food carts

In a pioneering step aimed at enhancing urban planning, supporting sustainability plans, improving the quality of life, and preserving the cultural and touristic aspect of the city, the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai announced the opening of the Al Ruwayyah Square project to organize the accommodation and storage of caravans and boats, including jet skis, trailers, and food carts.
Executive Director of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at the Roads and Transport Authority, Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, said: “The project aims to provide integrated and safe solutions for housing caravans, boats, trailers and food trucks, in line with Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for living, tourism and business.”
Al Ali said: “This initiative represents an essential foundation for reducing random practices and maintaining the flow of traffic. He explained that the square will provide 335 parking lots equipped with the latest infrastructure, which will contribute directly to protecting the right of way, achieving traffic safety, and enhancing the general aesthetic of the city.”
He added: “The Al Ruwayyah Square project is part of a series of our initiatives to support sustainable urban development and optimal utilization of the Authority’s assets, including land areas located in various regions in the emirate, as well as reducing the challenges resulting from random, unregulated parking on the right-of-way and residential areas in line with the ambitious plans that the Authority is working to achieve to make Dubai the best city for work and living in the world, and in a way that serves the hopes and aspirations of the residents, visitors and tourists of the emirate coming to it from various countries of the world.”
He continued by saying: “Work is currently underway to expand this service to other locations in Dubai, with the aim of greater coverage to include various regions, so that the service is easy to access and accessible to individuals and companies in the emirate.”
Abdullah Yousef Al Ali confirmed that the Al Ruwayyah Square project was implemented and managed in cooperation with one of the specialized companies in Dubai, within the framework of the Authority’s keenness to cooperate with private companies, and in line with the directives of the Dubai government to enhance partnership with the private sector to implement vital infrastructure projects, achieve the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), and support sustainable economic growth by benefiting from the expertise of the private sector and exchanging knowledge and expertise to provide advanced services to the public from various segments of society.
