Nahyan bin Mubarak witnesses the conclusion of the Dubai World Cricket Championship

DUBAI, 5 JANUARY / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Council, yesterday evening in Dubai, witnessed the conclusion of the competitions of the fourth edition of the Dubai World Cricket Championship (DP World ILT20), on which the curtain came down at the Dubai International Stadium in the presence of a large audience.

The championship competitions began on December 2nd, coinciding with the country’s National Day celebrations, and its matches were held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, with the participation of 6 professional teams.

The Desert Vipers team was crowned champion of the tournament, after winning the final match over the MI Emirates team by 46 points. The champion team won the championship cup and a financial prize of 700,000 US dollars, while the runner-up team won a financial prize of 300,000 US dollars.

The champion and runner-up were crowned by Khaled Al Zarouni, tournament organizer and Vice Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Council, accompanied by Mohammed Abu Hamra, CEO of Operations and Digital Technology at DP World Group, the main sponsor of the tournament.
