Emirates SkyCargo will receive 10 Boeing 777 aircraft during 2026

Emirates SkyCargo, the specialized cargo arm of Emirates Airlines, concluded the year 2025, with a clear and ambitious road map towards success in 2026, after a year full of qualitative investments that included strengthening the fleet and expanding the network, concluding new strategic partnerships, reshaping the digital landscape, and launching completely innovative products.

Badr Abbas, Emirates Senior Vice President of Cargo, said: “During the year 2025, we have laid solid foundations for the next phase of growth, by consolidating the foundations of our core business and expanding our global network, in addition to innovation in our product portfolio and operational processes, in a way that meets our customers’ current requirements and anticipates their future needs.”

He added: “It is expected that the year 2026 will constitute a major turning point in the expansion path of our fleet, with the delivery of up to 10 Boeing 777 freighter aircraft by December, which will push the growth of our business to new heights. This qualitative increase in capacity will also provide greater opportunities to expand the network, improve operating schedules, enhance the flexibility of solutions, and provide greater added value through our global network.”

At the beginning of 2025, Emirates SkyCargo received the first new Boeing 777 freighter aircraft, followed by two additional aircraft during the following months, which allowed the carrier to retire the older aircraft and fulfill its commitment to operating one of the youngest cargo fleets in the world.

The fleet currently includes 11 Boeing 777 freighter aircraft, in addition to five Boeing 747 aircraft leased under the operational lease system. The first Emirates airliner has also entered the program to convert to a freighter aircraft, in preparation for the start of its full operation in 2026. By the end of next year, Emirates SkyCargo aims to operate a fleet of about 21 freighter aircraft, which will add significant capacities to its current operations.

As part of its long-term vision to enhance the network of cargo destinations, during the year 2025, Emirates Sky Cargo launched cargo flights to eight new destinations. It also enhanced its services to destinations with high cargo volumes, such as Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Johannesburg, by adding new weekly frequency flights. The recently launched Hanoi service was quickly enhanced to become four flights per week, and by the end of the year, the carrier was serving 42 global destinations across six continents through cargo flights.

During the year, Emirates Sky Cargo also continued to strengthen its partnership network, which includes more than 180 air transport partners around the world, by signing new agreements to expand its international presence. In February, it concluded a partnership with Astral Airlines in Africa, followed by another partnership in April with Teleport in Southeast Asia. At the same time, the carrier strengthened its existing strategic partnerships with international airlines, including Air Canada, United, and Virgin Atlantic.
