Al-Wahda receives Bani Yas… and a balanced summit between Al-Nasr and Sharjah

The 12th round of the ADNOC Professional Football League begins with two matches, as Al Wahda hosts Bani Yas, while Al Nassr meets Sharjah. The round will be completed the day after tomorrow, with two matches, and will conclude next Thursday with three matches that are no less important in terms of ranking and ambition.

Al Wahda – Baniyas

Al Wahda team has the opportunity to reduce the gap with the leaders Al Ain, when today, at 19:45, it welcomes its guest, Baniyas, to Al Nahyan Stadium, in a promising confrontation between the two sides, while Baniyas seeks to return to the path of victories and stay away from danger areas.

Al-Anabi enters the match in third place with 21 points, and its victory means reducing the gap with leaders Al-Ain to three points, before the expected confrontation that will bring them together in the next round.

On the other hand, Bani Yas, which is in 11th place with seven points, aspires to come away with the three points to revive its chances of staying away from the downward spiral.

Al Wahda did not lose in the last 10 home matches in the ADNOC Professional League (winning six and drawing four), while it suffered only one loss in the last 18 home matches, which was against Al Bataeh (0-2) in January 2025.

On the other hand, Baniyas did not draw in its last 16 away matches in the league (winning six and losing 10), and its last draw was away from home against Al Wahda with a score of 2-2 in September 2024.

Al Wahda won only once in the last five matches in which it hosted Baniyas (they tied three and lost once), while Baniyas achieved victory in its last two matches away from home, and it has never achieved three consecutive victories away from its home stadium since February 2025.

Omar Khribin scored four goals against Baniyas in the league, all with Al Wahda shirt, while Baniyas scored six goals away from home this season, distributed between Lionel Govofo (three), Savio Godion (two goals), and Youssef Nyakteh (one).

Today, at 17:00, Al Maktoum Stadium will host Al-Nasr and its guest, Al-Sharjah, in a match in which “Al-Ameed” enters and is in sixth place with 18 points, while “Al-Malik” is in 12th place with seven points, seeking to stay away from danger zones and compensate for its loss in the last round against Al-Ain.

The two teams are equal in the number of victories at Al Maktoum Stadium in the professional league, with seven victories for each, compared to one draw.

Sharjah lost the last three matches in the league, and has never lost four consecutive matches since the period between December 2014 and February 2015. It also lost its last three matches away from home, and has not lost four consecutive matches away from home in one season since August-October 2015.

Moussa Ndiaye is the only player from the current Al-Nasr squad who has previously scored against Sharjah in the “Al-Ameed” shirt, while Ousmane Kamara scored four of the last six goals for Sharjah against Al-Nasr, including two braces.

Mahdi Qaidi scored five goals during six matches against Sharjah in the Professional League (three with Kalba, and two with Shabab Al-Ahly), to be one of the few who scored against Sharjah with more than one team, while Caio Lucas contributed nine goals during 12 matches with Sharjah and Al Ain against Al Nasr (he scored four and made five).
