This prison has witnessed many incidents, including a power outage in the middle of a harsh winter in 2019, and a stabbing incident that claimed the lives of two prisoners during the year 2024.
Finally, the authorities began detaining irregular immigrants there, as part of Trump’s ongoing campaign against immigration.

He explained "Daniel Lambright"special counsel for the New York Civil Liberties Union, said that the facility suffers from spoiled food and uncontrolled violence, in addition to a lack of medical care.
He added that "The federal prison in Brooklyn is a secretive, inhumane disaster that should have no place in immigration enforcement"following up on that "No one should have to endure such abuse".
