Ghaith Al Nuaimi wins the “Rapid Chess” championship in Al Ain

Al Ain Chess and Mind Games Club organized the Shahr Rajab Rapid Chess Championship at its headquarters in Al Ain, as part of the first activities of its new season, in the presence of Hisham Al Taher, Secretary General of the Asian Chess Federation and Managing Director and CEO of the club, who crowned the winners and congratulated the participants on the occasion of the new year.
Al-Taher stressed that holding such tournaments represents an important step in developing the levels of players, as they provide opportunities for technical analysis of matches and learning from mistakes, which reflects positively on refining skills and enhancing competitive aspects, especially among different age groups, pointing out the club’s keenness to organize quality tournaments that keep pace with the development of the game and serve the base of practitioners.
The tournament witnessed the participation of 78 male and female players from 15 countries, competing over seven rounds that were characterized by strength and competition, and reflected high technical levels, in a distinguished organizational atmosphere.
The competitions resulted in Ghaith Al Nuaimi, Al Ain Club player and 2025 Emirates Youth Champion, being crowned first place after presenting a consistent and distinguished performance, through which he confirmed his strong presence on the chess arena, while Ayham Sayed came in second place, and Ahmed Mohamed Saeed came third.
In terms of special awards, Sheikha Abdullah Al Muraikhi won the Best Emirati Player Award, while Ahmed Younis Al Khamiri was crowned the Best Emirati Player Award.
In the age group competitions, Maryam Al Kindi (females) and Zayed Al Ali (males) won the U-14 category title, Fatima Nasser Al Shamsi (females) and Hamdan Al Ali (males) won the U-12 category title, while Al Anoud Al Nuaimi (females) and Saad Al Nuaimi (males) took the lead in the U 10 category, and Salama Al Badawi (females) and Muhammad Musabah Al Kaabi (males) won the U 10 category title. Under 8 years.
The tournament also witnessed the crowning of Ayan Haseeb with the Best Academy Player award, and Asma Makhmalji with the Best Academy Player award.
