Al Habtoor, President, and Bin Dri, Vice President of the Polo Federation

The President of the Emirates Polo Federation, Mohammed Al Habtoor, confirmed that the Federation’s ambitions are “without limits,” noting that the first phase of the Board of Directors’ work witnessed the completion of an integrated package of regulations and laws, in addition to the launch of a modern digital system, which contributed to developing institutional work mechanisms and enhancing performance efficiency, in line with the Federation’s strategy emanating from the strategy of the Ministry of Sports.

Al Habtoor said in press statements that the Council worked in a one-team spirit to achieve the strategic goals, pointing out that the regulations and laws that were adopted represent a qualitative boost to the progress of the Federation and the clubs, and support the trends of elevating the sport of polo to the status that befits the UAE, which is the main center for the game in the Middle East and Asia, thanks to its advanced infrastructure that matches the best international stadiums, in addition to the unlimited support provided by the Ministry of Sports, which contributed to facilitating the Federation’s tasks and achieving its goals.

The Board of Directors of the Emirates Polo Federation held its first meeting with its new formation, headed by Mohammed Al Habtoor and membership of Sheikh Khalifa Hasher Al Maktoum, Saeed Bin Dari, Mohammed Al Hariz, Mohammed Al Raqbani, Hind Al Hosani, Mahra Falaknaz, Yousef Bin Dasmal, and Ahmed Al Samaj.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al Habtoor welcomed the new members, wishing them success in continuing the process of achievements, and at the same time appreciating the efforts of the previous members. He also thanked and appreciated Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Ghanem Mubarak Al Hajri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, and Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary for the Sports Development and Competitiveness Sector, for their trust and approval to form the new Board of Directors, stressing the Board’s commitment to sustaining development programs and plans and building on what has been achieved according to a comprehensive strategic vision aimed at enhancing Presence of the sport of polo regionally and globally.

The meeting discussed the Federation’s future plans, most notably hosting the World Polo Cup next December, where Saeed Humaid Bin Dari, Vice President of the Federation, gave a brief presentation on the arrangements that have been made so far, in addition to the steps and coordination expected during the coming period.

The Council also reviewed the organizational structure of the federation and its various committees, and administrative portfolios were distributed, as the position of President was assigned to Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice President to Saeed Humaid Bin Dari for the second time, and the position of Secretary General to Mohammed Al Hariz, while Ahmed Al Samaj assumed the presidency of the Disciplinary Committee, Mohammed Al Raqbani chaired the Classification Committee (Handicap), and Mahra Falaknaz was assigned to assume responsibility for public relations and media.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council discussed the Federation’s general budget and current sources of income, within the framework of enhancing financial sustainability and supporting future development plans for the game.
