Under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Fujairah, the first Fujairah International Open Tennis Championship will start next March 2

Fujairah, February 27 / WAM / The Emirate of Fujairah, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, is preparing to record a new historical milestone in the sport of tennis at the regional level, as the Fujairah Tennis Club will host the first Fujairah International Open Tennis Championship, within the 50-point Challenger tournaments of the Association of Tennis Professionals, during the period from 2 to 15 March 2026.

The professional tournament, which extends over two weeks, represents a qualitative step in the development of tennis in the emirate, by hosting international competitions and providing opportunities to obtain world ranking points on the eastern coast of the UAE.

The 50-point Challenger tournament is also an essential stop for players seeking to advance in the world rankings and move to the World Tennis Professionals Association Tour competitions, as Fujairah, by hosting this tournament, joins the list of international cities that provide competitive platforms for emerging and professional players.

The competition table includes 32 players in the main table, 24 players in the qualifying rounds, in addition to doubles competitions with the participation of 16 teams.

The matches start daily at eleven in the morning, with the singles finals being held on March 8 and 15, and the doubles finals on March 7 and 14.

The tournament is managed by the ATP-certified general controller, Yiri Adamovsky, to ensure full compliance with the ATP regulations and standards.

An integrated refereeing team will also participate, including six chair referees and three review referees, in addition to a field support team consisting of eight to ten match assistants who manage operations inside the stadium, including logistical coordination and player support.

Specialized technical teams operate live recording systems and review footage to ensure the highest levels of technical accuracy during competitions.

The organization focuses on operational efficiency and providing integrated services to players, as the Players Affairs Office works on a shift basis to ensure continuous support throughout the tournament.

The reception teams also provide basic services, including racket stringing, laundry services, general guidance and organizational coordination, in addition to allocating a special office to organize training balls and training court schedules to facilitate training schedules.

In the context of enhancing community participation, a team consisting of 27 ball collectors is being formed, in a step that reflects the tournament’s interest in involving the youth group and enhancing the presence of the local community in the event, as the program is managed according to professional standards that ensure the smooth flow of matches and adherence to approved international standards.

The organization of the first Fujairah International Open Tennis Championship in the 50-point Challenger category represents an indication of the growing presence of the Emirate of Fujairah on the international tennis map, as the tournament provides important points in the world rankings, and also contributes to consolidating the position of the Fujairah Tennis Club as an emerging center for hosting professional competitions in the Middle East region.

With a professional organization supported by specialized staff and advanced operational planning, the inaugural edition of the tournament is preparing to present two weeks of high-level professional competitions, and set a new standard for hosting future sporting events in the emirate.
