A bill in Congress proposes making Greenland the 51st US state

A Republican member filed in US Congress for the state of Florida, a draft law to annex Greenland, making it the 51st US state, while President Donald Trump threatens to seize the autonomous Danish territory.

Representative Randy Fine said that his new legislation would allow Trump "To take any step necessary to annex or acquire Greenland"

Trump’s insistence

Trump insisted that Greenland, rich in rare earth minerals, should come under American control, arguing that the territory is important for national security.

He said that Russia or China would take Greenland if the United States did not do so.
