Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Honorary President of the Emirates Golf Federation
ABU DHABI, 15 JANUARY / WAM / The Emirates Golf Federation granted His Excellency Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi the honorary presidency of the federation, by a decision of the Board of Directors headed by Major General / M / Abdullah Al Hashemi and unanimously among its members, in appreciation of his pioneering role and great efforts that contributed to the development of the sport of golf in the UAE during his period as president of the federation over four consecutive electoral cycles.
Major General M/ Abdullah Al Hashemi, President of the Emirates Golf Federation, confirmed that this decision comes in recognition of a national journey full of giving and achievements, noting that Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi led the federation with a strategic vision and institutional approach that contributed to creating a comprehensive qualitative shift in the sport of golf, at the level of organizational structure, developing technical personnel, and raising the levels of male and female players.
He explained that the period of Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi’s presidency constituted a pivotal stage in the history of the game locally, as it witnessed a noticeable expansion in the base of practitioners, and a development in technical and competitive programs, in addition to strengthening local and international partnerships, pointing out that what was achieved during those stages contributed to consolidating the position of the Emirates Golf Association as a leading model in sports management.
He pointed out that the contributions of Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi extended to the Arab framework, through his leadership of the Arab Golf Federation for four electoral cycles, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing cooperation between Arab federations, unifying development visions, and raising the level of technical competition, in a way that serves the future of the game in the Arab region.
He explained that granting the honorary presidency to His Excellency Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi embodies the Federation’s approach to honoring national leaders who have left clear and sustainable imprints on the path of Emirati sports.
He stressed that the next stage will continue to build on the gains achieved, especially in light of the distinguished presence of the UAE teams and their accession to the Gulf and Arab podiums, thus enhancing the position of Emirati golf on the regional and international arenas.
