The Pharmaceutical Care Department is registered at Makkah Maternity and Children’s Hospital, member Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster dispensed 172,296 prescriptions during the year 2025, in addition to renewing its clinical accreditation, in an achievement that reflects the efficiency of pharmaceutical services and the quality of drug practices in the hospital.
The Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster explained that the prescriptions dispensed were distributed among the various departments of the hospital, as 101,736 prescriptions were dispensed through the central pharmacy and the intravenous fluid pharmacy, And 37,800 prescriptions through the emergency pharmacy, in addition to 28,620 prescriptions in the outpatient pharmacy.
Ease of obtaining treatment
He pointed out the activation of self-dispensing devices in the hospitalization departments, and 4,140 prescriptions were dispensed through the “Raqeeb” electronic system, while 7,950 patients benefited from the pharmaceutical mail service, which contributes to delivering medications to the homes of beneficiaries and enhancing the ease of obtaining them. Treatment.
He added that the pharmaceutical staff were able to discover and amend more than 1,620 medication notes on prescriptions before they reached patients, within the drug safety system approved in all hospital departments, in a way that enhances the safe and effective use of medications.
Development plans
The health cluster indicated that the year 2025 also witnessed the renewal of the accreditation of the hospital’s clinical pharmacy residency program, within the framework of development plans. The training environment and improving the quality of health services provided.
