Unveiling a special version of the official ball for the African Nations Final

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Puma, the sports equipment and supplies company, today revealed a special, commemorative version of the official ball for the Africa Cup of Nations matches, currently being held in Morocco, and dedicated to the final match of the continental competition.
The Moroccan national team will meet its Senegalese counterpart, the day after tomorrow, Sunday, at Moulay Abdellah Stadium in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, in the final match of the tournament, as both teams are looking forward to winning the continental title for the second time in their history.
The CAF official website explained today that the two teams will play with a special version of the official match ball, which features golden touches in honor of the final teams.
CAF pointed out that the ball, which was used during the African Cup of Nations competitions, features a striking design that incorporates the traditional geometric motifs of the Moroccan zellige, which is characterized by a central star, floral petal shapes and circular symmetry.
The ball, named “Etri,” relied on Puma’s advanced Orbita 6 technology, seamlessly combining heritage and innovation, providing the performance standards required for competitions at the highest levels, while at the same time celebrating African culture.
It is noteworthy that the current edition of the competition was launched last December 21, and has witnessed 120 goals scored so far in 50 matches.
