Stream released "Sustainable Impact Challenge 2026"

DUBAI, 19 JANUARY / WAM / MAGRA – The National Fund for Social Responsibility announced the launch of the second session of the “Sustainable Impact Challenge 2026”, with prizes worth more than one million dirhams, in a step aimed at stimulating and empowering pioneering projects in the areas of social responsibility and sustainability that make a tangible impact in the UAE, and encouraging private sector institutions, the third sector and academic institutions to expand the scope of their social, environmental and economic impact.

According to a press release issued today, the challenge is one of the most prominent national initiatives launched by “Majra” to promote a culture of sustainable impact, through an integrated system that includes qualification, evaluation, impact documentation, and institutional recognition, which represents a national investment in projects capable of achieving sustainable and scalable results, and in line with national priorities for sustainable development and the UAE’s vision for the future.

Sarah Shaw, Executive Director of Majra, confirmed on this occasion that the “Sustainable Impact Challenge” embodies the country’s strategic direction in establishing sustainability within institutional business models and supporting projects that contribute to creating a positive and sustainable impact.

She explained that allocating cash prizes worth more than one million dirhams, in addition to added services to support social responsibility and sustainability projects, reflects the UAE’s commitment to stimulating innovation in the private sector and the third sector, enhancing social responsibility practices, and building an impact-based economy.

She pointed out that the challenge constitutes an integrated national platform that aims to move the concept of social responsibility from traditional initiatives to projects with a measurable and documented sustainable impact, and to honor initiatives capable of transforming investment in sustainability into added value for the economy, society and the environment, which contributes to consolidating the UAE’s position as a global center for responsible business and investment in impact, stressing that the value of the awards reflects “Majra”’s commitment to supporting impactful projects and supporting institutions in expanding the scope of the impact of their initiatives.

The launch of the 2026 session comes as a continuation of the success achieved by the inaugural edition of the “Sustainable Impact Challenge” in 2025, which was announced on the sidelines of the participation of MAGAR – the National Fund for Social Responsibility – in the Investopia conference, and its outcomes were crowned with an honoring ceremony that embodied the results of the challenge and contributed to highlighting pioneering national models and projects with a tangible impact in the fields of social responsibility and sustainability in the UAE.

The Sustainable Impact Challenge 2026 targets licensed institutions in the UAE from various sectors, including non-profit institutions, academic institutions and individual entrepreneurs, provided that the projects are directly related to social responsibility or sustainability, and have been implemented or continued during the year 2025, with clear evidence proving implementation and impact.

The best 100 projects will have the opportunity to obtain the Sustainable Impact Seal from “Majara”, while the best 20 projects will be honored during an official ceremony, in addition to the best three projects being crowned with cash prizes, in addition to special appreciation awards for projects with a qualitative impact.

Majra called on all institutions operating in the UAE to participate in the Sustainable Impact Challenge 2026, stressing that this initiative represents a national platform to support innovation, exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to building a more sustainable and prosperous future for the country.
