Manchester City announces a new winter deal
Manchester City signed English centre-back Mark Jehy from Crystal Palace on a five-and-a-half-year contract.
The club did not reveal the financial details of the deal, but British media reported that the transfer value of the 25-year-old international player, who had six months remaining on his contract with Palace, was about 20 million pounds sterling.
Jehi became City’s second signing in the January transfer window, after signing winger Antoine Semenyu from Bournemouth.
Manchester City’s director of football, Hugo Viana, said in a statement: “It is clear that Mark has been one of the best defenders in English football for quite some time, so we are very pleased to have him join Manchester City.”
City occupies second place in the league standings with 43 points from 22 matches, seven points behind leaders Arsenal.
