Most regions of the Kingdom are witnessing a rainy weather event that coincides with the weekend, starting tomorrow, Friday (January 23), and continuing until Sunday (January 25), and is represented by thunderstorms ranging in intensity from moderate to heavy, during different time periods.
He explained National Center of Meteorology The situation includes large areas of the north, center, east and west of the Kingdom, where it is expected Moderate to heavy rainfall in the Tabuk region during Friday and Saturday (January 23-24), including the governorates of Tabuk, Neom, Taima, Haql, Al-Wajh, Umluj, Al-Bidaa, and Duba, during separate periods of time.
Al-Jawf region also witnesses the same situation during Friday and Saturday (January 23-24), where moderate to heavy rain is expected in Sakaka and Dumat Al-Jandal, while light to moderate rain in the governorates. Qurayyat and Tabarjal during the same time periods.

He added that the situation includes the northern border region during Friday and Saturday (January 23-24), where Medium to heavy rainfall in the governorates of Arar, Rafha, and Al-Uwaiqila, while light to moderate in the Turaif governorate, during different time periods.

He pointed out that the situation extends in the eastern region, from Friday (January 23) until the morning of Sunday (January 25), when moderate to heavy rains are expected in the governorates of Hafar Al-Batin, Al-Khafji, Al-Olayya Village, and Al-Nairyah, while Light to moderate rain from Saturday (January 24) until Sunday morning (January 25) in the governorates and cities of Jubail, Ras Tanura, Qatif, Dammam, Al-Khobar, Abqaiq, Al-Ahsa, and Al-Udayd, during different time periods.
The situation also includes the Qassim region, where moderate to heavy rain is expected in the governorates of Buraidah, Unayzah, Riyadh Al-Khubara, Al-Bukayriyah, Al-Bada’i, Uyun Al-Jawa, Al-Madhanb, Al-Shamsiyah, Al-Asiyah, Abanat, Al-Rass, Uqlat Al-Suqour, Al-Nabhaniya, and Dhariya, and the situation extends from Saturday (January 24) until the morning of Sunday (January 25), during separate time periods.
The Hail region is affected by the situation during Friday and Saturday (January 23-24), as moderate to heavy rain is expected in the city of Hail and the governorates of Al-Ghazala, Al-Shamli, Al-Jadar, Al-Shannan, Baqa’, Samira, Al-Sulaimi, and Muwaq, during periods of time. Different.
The Medina region is also witnessing light to moderate rains on Friday (January 23) in the governorates of Al-Ula and Al-Eis, before the situation extends on Saturday (January 24) to include Medina, Yanbu, Al-Ula, Al-Eis, Khaybar, Badr, Al-Hanakiyah, Wadi Al-Fara’, and Al-Mahd, where rain is expected to be moderate to heavy during different periods of time.
The situation also includes the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region on Saturday (January 24), where rainfall is expected. Light to moderate rain over the Holy Capital, Jeddah, Rabigh, Khulais, Al-Jamoum, Bahrah, and Al-Kamil, during separate periods of time.

He indicated that light rain amounts range between (1 – 4 mm/hour), and are accompanied by descending winds that raise dust and dust, reaching speeds of up to (50 km/hour), while medium rain amounts range between (5 – 9 mm/hour), and may be accompanied by Downward winds reaching speeds of up to (60 km/hour), with the possibility of torrential rains, hail, and rising waves on the coasts.
As for heavy rains, their amounts exceed (10 – 50 mm/hour) and more, and may be accompanied by strong downward winds exceeding speeds of (60 km/hour), with the possibility of torrential rains, hail, and rising waves on the coasts, in addition to the possibility of the formation of tornadoes or water towers.
