A 5.1 magnitude earthquake strikes western Türkiye

Hit An earthquake measuring 5.1 degrees on the Richter scale at dawn today, in the Sundargi district of Balikesir Province, western Turkey.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD) reported that The earthquake occurred at a depth of 11 kilometers, confirming that no human or material losses have been recorded so far, with field survey work continuing.

For his part, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerli Kaya announced that the specialized teams had begun field verification work to check on the situation.
