The national team seizes the Libyan club Al-Ittihad in the last seconds… and takes the lead in the “Dubai Basketball”

The national basketball team achieved a difficult victory against the Libyan team Al-Ittihad, which came in the last seconds by two points and with a score of (97-95), today, Sunday, in the first group competitions, at the opening of the third round of the group stage of the Dubai International Championship, which is currently being held in its 35th edition at the Al-Nasr Club hall, and will continue until the first of next February.

The national team was at the top of the first group with four points, one point ahead of Al-Ittihad of Libya, and two points ahead of Al-Nasr of the Emirates, which is in third place.

The match was close, after the first quarter ended in a draw (25-25), before Al-Ittihad of Libya was able to end the first half with a one-point lead, after excelling in the second quarter with a score of (26-25). Al-Ittihad continued its superiority at the start of the second half by winning the third quarter in its favor (22-18), but “Al-Abyad” regained the initiative in the final minutes, and succeeded in turning the result in its favor after its superiority in the fourth quarter (29-22).

At five o’clock in the afternoon tomorrow, Monday, the national team will participate in an “Emirati” summit that will bring it together with host Al-Nasr, in a match within the fourth round competitions, which will witness at three o’clock in the afternoon, and for the account of the same group, a confrontation between Al-Ittihad of Libya and Al-Wahda of Syria, with the matches of the second group being held at exactly seven and nine o’clock in the evening, respectively, where Al-Ahly Tripoli of Libya will meet Al-Karama of Syria, followed by a strong confrontation between defending champion Beirut of Lebanon and Africa of Tunisia.
