Germany warns of the failure of the Ukraine negotiations…and reveals Russian intransigence

Condemned Monday’s intransigence , following talks that took place last week between Russian, Ukrainian and American delegations.
Johan Vadevol told reporters during a visit to Riga, the capital of Latvia, that "The basic condition is for Russia to show its willingness to conclude a peace agreement, but what I hear and read today, including in relation to the negotiations, is Russia’s intransigence on the issue of crucial territories."
Russian-Ukrainian negotiations
He added: "If there is no flexibility in this regard, I am afraid that the negotiations may take a long time or fail at this stage"
Vadiful welcomed the US-brokered talks, but added "It is clear that Europe must be at the negotiating table when decisions are made about our continent’s security regime – and Russia must know that our commitment to diplomacy does not come at the expense of our determination to support Ukraine."
Decisive Moment
Speaking alongside the Latvian Foreign Minister, Vadevol stressed that "This is a decisive moment for the future of our European continent"
The German Foreign Minister continued: "We will not see real peace negotiations unless Russia understands that Europe stands united with Ukraine".
