UN official urges lifting restrictions imposed on Afghan women

UN official Rosemary DiCarlo urged the immediate lifting of all these restrictions, and encouraged the de facto authorities to fully engage in the Doha process and fulfill their international obligations necessary to reintegrate Afghanistan into the international community.

During the visit, which concluded on Sunday, DiCarlo met with members of the diplomatic corps in Kabul, Afghan women, members of civil society and female Afghan employees at the United Nations.

She stressed the importance of facilitating the unhindered crossing of humanitarian aid across borders, and requested the support of the authorities in this regard. It has agreed with the de facto authorities in Afghanistan to continue cooperation.
