“Dubai Residence” participates in the Sharjah International Tour… and records a remarkable competitive presence

The General Administration of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (Dubai Residency) participated in the 11th edition of the Sharjah International Cycling Tour, which was launched in the Emirate of Sharjah, within the agenda of international races classified by the International Cycling Union (UCI 2.2), with the participation of about 162 cyclists representing 27 teams and teams from 18 countries, in a multi-stage international race whose total distances exceeded 500 kilometers.
The Sharjah International Tour is one of the most prominent sporting events that brings together elite riders from around the world. It reflects the UAE’s position as a global destination for sports, tourism and endurance sports. It also contributes to enhancing the values of teamwork and spreading the culture of sports and a healthy lifestyle in society.
Dubai Residency’s participation in this international sporting event confirms its institutional approach to supporting community sports, empowering national competencies, and establishing a culture of health and physical readiness among employees, in line with its vision of building a balanced work environment that enhances institutional performance and contributes to improving the quality of life.
Members of the General Administration of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai participated in the Sharjah Tour 2026 under three banners: the Emirates Team, the Emirates National Team, and the Dubai Residency Team, in a participation that reflected the integration between national and institutional representation. The UAE team was represented by Mohammed Al Mutaiwi and Abdullah Jassim Al Ali, while Ahmed Al Mansouri and Rashid Mohammed Ibrahim Al Balushi participated in the UAE team. As for the Dubai Residency team, it included a group of the organization’s employees and players, namely Abdulaziz Al-Hajri, Curl Miller, Saeed Habash, Rashid Suwaidan, Sufyan Haddi, and Anas Ait Al-Abdiyah. The team presented a collective performance characterized by team spirit, commitment, and responsible competition throughout the stages of the tour.
In the first stage, cyclist Mohammed Al Mutaiwei excelled by achieving second place, in addition to being crowned the best Emirati player. He also won the red jersey designated for the best player in the promotion, in a strong start that reflected his high readiness and ability to compete at advanced levels.
In the second stage, Rashid Al Balushi succeeded in obtaining the shirt of the best Emirati player in this stage, confirming the continuity of performance and positive competition between the national riders during the various stages of the Tour. As for the third stage, it witnessed the brilliance of Abdullah Jassim Al Ali, who was crowned the best Emirati player in the stage, before continuing his excellence in the fourth and fifth stages, maintaining the same title until the end of the fifth stage, in a performance characterized by stability and tactical discipline throughout the stages of the race.
Abdullah Jassim Al Ali concluded his participation in the Sharjah Tour 2026 by achieving the title of best Emirati player in the overall standings, in addition to achieving fifth place in the overall standings of the Tour, an achievement that reflects the remarkable development of the level of Emirati riders and their ability to compete confidently in multi-stage tournaments.
Assistant Director General of the Digital Services Affairs Sector at Dubai Residency, Colonel Expert Khalid bin Madiya Al Falasi, confirmed that the participation of Dubai Residency employees in the Sharjah Tour comes within the organization’s vision that aims to establish sports as a way of life, and enhance the balance between professional performance and physical health, noting that these participations contribute to building more prepared and harmonious work teams.
He added that the honorable results achieved by the Dubai Residency members in the Sharjah Tour 2026 reflect the level of discipline and professionalism they enjoy, and confirm the organization’s keenness to empower its employees and support their presence in sports events, in a way that enhances the institutional reputation and embodies the image of the Dubai Residency as a government entity that supports excellence inside and outside the field.
He stressed that the Dubai establishment will continue to support the participation of its employees in local and international sporting tournaments and events, believing in the role of sport in building balanced cadres capable of competing with confidence and representing the organization in an honorable manner, and in a way that reflects the UAE’s position as an incubator for global sports and endurance sports.
