The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has approved the controls and requirements for organizing and establishing Equestrian sports for purebred Arabian horses, with the aim of developing this ancient sector, raising the level of organization and governance, and ensuring that local and international tournaments are compatible with the standards adopted locally and internationally, in a way that preserves the status of purebred Arabian horses and enhances their presence in sports forums.
Article Three of the controls specifies the competencies of the center concerned with equestrian sports For purebred Arabian horses, as it is responsible for establishing and organizing this sport, and granting the necessary permits to hold tournaments and events, with coordination in this regard with the relevant authorities.
The center undertakes the tasks of supervising, monitoring and inspecting all equestrian sports activities related to purebred Arabian horses, ensuring compliance with the approved regulations and instructions.
Conditions for holding equestrian sports and local tournaments

With regard to prizes, the controls stipulated that the financial prizes be determined seven days before the tournament date. At least, provided that the total prizes are not less than 500 thousand riyals, with their inclusion in the tournament catalogue.
It obligated the organizer to pay 3% of the total value of the prizes to the ICAO organization if the value of the prizes exceeded 5 thousand euros, in addition to distributing the financial prizes to the winners within a period not exceeding two months from the end of the tournament, after the results of the doping test were issued.
Review, catalog, and final provisions
The controls included obligations related to review, audit, and preparation. The tournament catalog must be approved by the Center before printing it, and not distributed until one day before the start of the tournament. After the end of the tournament, the organizer is obligated to provide the Center with a complete copy of the tournament video, in addition to ten copies of the tournament catalogue.
The final provisions stressed the need for the organizer to adhere to all instructions issued by the Center, and to the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom, and not to offend any party or person, and to take all security and safety measures during the holding of tournaments, in order to achieve a professional regulatory environment for horse equestrian sports.
