Rashid Al Muhairi, champion of the Emirates Endurance Cup
Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Association, crowned the jockey Rashid Mohammed Ateeq Al Muhairi as champion of the Emirates Arabian Horse Endurance Cup for a distance of 100 km.
The race was held in its second edition, on Sunday, at the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba, and was organized by the Emirates Arabian Horse Association and the Emirates International Endurance Village, in cooperation with the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, and witnessed the participation of 87 male and female riders.
The coronation ceremony was attended by Muslim Al Ameri, Director General of the Emirates International Endurance Village, Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi, Director General of the Emirates Arabian Horse Association, Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General of the National Archives and Library, Dr. Abdullah Al Sheikh, Member of the Board of Directors of the Equestrian Federation, Chairman of the Endurance Committee, Mohammed Al Hadhrami, Director of Events at the Village, and Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of Marketing and Sponsorship at the Village.
The champion won on the horse “Citoen de Ghazal” for the “Isnad” stables, achieving 3:26:36 hours, with an average speed of 29.04 km/hour. The runner-up, by a second, came to the jockey Lea Venderkerkov, on the horse “Zaltin” for the “F3” stables, recording 3:26:37 hours, and third was the jockey Saeed Abdullah Al Muhairi, with “Highland Larzac” also for F3 Stables, with a time of 3:26:52 hours.
