Shehab qualifies for the quarter-finals of the Asian Snooker Championship

Doha, February 3, 2017 – Mohamed Shehab, the star of the UAE snooker national team, qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2026 Asian Snooker Championship for Men, currently being held at the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation Academy in Doha, after defeating Pakistani Rana Irfan, 4-3, in the round of 16 competitions.

The UAE national team is participating in the tournament, whose competitions will continue until February 6, with four players: Mohammed Shehab and Khaled Al Kamali in the men’s category, and Saif Al Zaabi and Suhail Al Zaabi in the under-21 category.

In the quarter-finals, Shehab will face Indian player Pankaj Advani, who in turn qualified after defeating Qatari Ahmed Saif with a score of 4-1.

In the same round competitions, Khaled Al Kamali bid farewell to the tournament after losing to Iranian Shaheen Sabzi 0-4 in the round of 16.

In the U-21 category, Suhail Al Zaabi achieved an exciting victory over Chan Lan Yap from Hong Kong, 3-2, while his colleague Saif Al Zaabi lost to Iranian Armen Jawaheri, 1-3.
