"Emirates Driving School" turn into "Emirates Mobility" To become an integrated platform for the mobility sector

ABU DHABI, 9th February, 2018 (WAM) – The Emirates Driving Education Company, listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange under the symbol “DRIVE” and affiliated with the “2.0” Group, announced today the launch of a new phase in its corporate journey under the name “Emirates Mobility”, to become a specialized platform in the transportation sector, in a strategic step aimed at enhancing sustainable value for shareholders and expanding the company’s presence within the integrated transportation system at the state level.
The transformation comes within the strategic vision of the “2.0” Group, as the main shareholder, to build specialized sector platforms capable of achieving sustainable value, enhancing institutional efficiency, and supporting the deliberate expansion in vital sectors with economic and societal impact.
Within the framework of this trend, Emirates Transport will continue to manage a growing portfolio of assets in the transportation sector, while operational activities continue normally through Emirates Driving School and its subsidiaries, ensuring the quality of services provided to customers is maintained.
The Emirates Mobility portfolio will include a number of companies operating in the transportation sector, including Excellence Premier Investment Group, in addition to Mowasalat Holding Group and Garage Point Company.
Completion of this transformation is subject to applicable legal and regulatory procedures and approvals, including approvals from regulatory authorities and the company’s shareholders, in accordance with the frameworks approved in the country.
Samia Bouazza, CEO of 2 Point Zero Group, stressed that the transition to “Emirates Mobility” represents a strategic milestone in the process of developing the business model, and reflects the group’s orientation towards building specialized platforms capable of enhancing added value in the long term.
She explained that the platform was designed for deliberate expansion, implementing disciplined mergers and acquisitions, and enhancing capital efficiency in the mobility sector, which contributes to strengthening corporate governance and supporting the commitment to achieving sustainable, long-term returns for shareholders, in addition to contributing to building a smarter and more integrated mobility system in the United Arab Emirates.
For his part, Khaled Al Shamili, CEO of Emirates Driving Education Company, said that the transition to Emirates Mobility represents a new stage in the company’s journey, as it moves from an operational model to an integrated platform focused on developing a comprehensive portfolio in the transportation sector.
He explained that this model will enable the company to strengthen governance, expand growth horizons, and benefit from qualitative opportunities in a sector that is witnessing rapid development at the local and regional levels.
He added that the ambition is for Emirates Mobility to become the first destination for mobility solutions, through a thoughtful strategy to expand the scope of services and adopt innovative operating models that believe that enabling the movement of people and goods constitutes an essential foundation for building more interconnected and prosperous societies.
