"Dubai Health" and"Dubai Health" They signed a memorandum to support the localization of health professions

DUBAI, 12 February / WAM / The Dubai Health Authority and Dubai Health, represented by the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at supporting the nationalization of health professions, by supporting a number of students enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s programs in various medical specialties at the university.

The signing of the memorandum comes in a step that reflects the Authority’s joint commitment to enhancing national competencies in the health sector.

The signing of the memorandum was witnessed by His Excellency Dr. Alawi Al Sheikh Ali, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, and Dr. Amer Sharif, Executive Director of Dubai Health, and Director of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Under the memorandum, the Dubai Health Authority will cover the tuition fees for a number of national students enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s programs in various medical specialties at the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, the learning and discovery arm of Dubai Health, in addition to students of the Hind Bint Maktoum College of Nursing and Midwifery at the university.

The memorandum was signed by Dr. Asma Al Sharif, Acting Executive Director of the Health Regulation Sector at the Dubai Health Authority, and Dr. Hanan Al Suwaidi, Deputy Executive Director and Executive Director of Academic Affairs at Dubai Health and Deputy Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences for Academic Affairs, during the World Health Expo – Dubai 2026.

Al Sharif stressed that the memorandum is a strong boost to the great efforts made to nationalize health professions and provide the health sector with qualified national cadres capable of achieving the strategic goals of the health system in Dubai.

Dr. Hanan Al Suwaidi said: “The memorandum embodies our joint commitment with the Dubai Health Authority to qualify national medical cadres who will lead the future of the health sector in Dubai, by empowering national students academically and professionally in vital specializations, including nursing, in a way that enhances the integration of our health system.”

She added: “The program will include students enrolled in the specializations of medicine and surgery, in addition to students from the Hind Bint Maktoum College of Nursing and Midwifery, at the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, in a way that enhances support for vital paths in the health sector.”
