Hamdan bin Mohammed chairs the first meeting of the Defense Council for the year 2026

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, chaired today (Thursday) the first meeting of the Defense Council for the year 2026, as part of following up on the ministry’s efforts aimed at strengthening the defense work system, continuing the comprehensive development of various sectors, and enhancing the readiness of the armed forces, in accordance with the approved strategic visions.

The meeting reviewed a number of topics related to modernization and development paths, in addition to examining a number of plans and programs aimed at raising the level of readiness, whether at the level of individuals or modern defense equipment and technologies according to the highest standards, in addition to enhancing institutional efficiency, which contributes to supporting the capabilities of the armed forces and enabling them to continue performing their tasks with high efficiency.

The Council also discussed a group of future initiatives that keep pace with the priorities of the next stage and support the Ministry’s directions in areas related to defense work.

The meeting was attended by Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Fadel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al Alawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence, along with a number of senior officers and officials in the Ministry of Defence.
