The Sharjah Chamber opens its specialized museum to document its economic achievements

Sharjah, February 14 / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry opened the “Sharjah Chamber Museum” at the Sharjah Vintage Car Club.

The museum constitutes an edifice that documents the Chamber’s progress, its economic role, and its history full of achievements. It reflects the development of the business environment in the Emirate of Sharjah over the past decades, to be a knowledge platform and destination for researchers and those interested in economic affairs.

This came during its annual ceremony held yesterday evening to honor its strategic and distinguished partners in recognition and appreciation of the exceptional contributions and sincere efforts they have made in achieving the strategic objectives of the Chamber that are in line with the future plans and directions of the Emirate of Sharjah.

The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Walid Abdul Rahman Bu Khatir, Second Vice Chairman of the Chamber, and a number of members of the Board of Directors of the Chamber and Expo Sharjah, His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Center Sharjah, His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber, and Dr. Muhammad bin Butti Al Hajri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Vintage Car Club, in addition to a group of senior officials of the Sharjah Chamber and its strategic partners.

His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais stressed that the human competencies possessed by the Chamber have proven that excellence is a daily work approach that is adhered to in serving the business community, noting that the year 2025 witnessed exceptional growth in the Chamber’s performance indicators, as the total registered memberships rose to more than 76 thousand memberships, a growth rate of 14% compared to the previous year, while the Chamber attracted more than 8,300 new members and the number of renewed memberships exceeded 67 thousand memberships.

He added that the Chamber continued its role in supporting the foreign trade movement by issuing more than 90,000 certificates of origin during the year as part of its commitment to facilitating the access of its members’ products to global markets within a comprehensive vision to enhance Sharjah’s position as a leading economic and commercial center at the regional and international levels in light of the sound directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness’s continued support for everything that contributes to the sustainability of economic development and the prosperity of the emirate’s society.

He pointed out that the Chamber has expanded the scope of its services to include companies operating in free zones, bringing the number of new and renewed memberships to about 2,300.

Al Owais praised the role of Emirati women in advancing economic development, expressing his pride in the contributions of businesswomen and workers in the various departments of the Chamber, and stressed that honoring an elite group of distinguished employees and partners embodies the Chamber’s message that every effort made and every achievement achieved deserves appreciation and celebration.

For his part, His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Midfa confirmed that the year 2025 witnessed important stages in the center’s journey, most notably the launch of an exhibition for future mobility technology as the first exhibition for electric vehicles in the region and the Middle East cosmetics exhibition, in addition to leading the digital transformation by introducing “digital twin” technologies and artificial intelligence at the “Steel Fab” exhibition, explaining that Expo Sharjah has become a center for industrial innovation and a leading destination for the exhibition industry at the regional and international levels.

In turn, His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al-Awadhi stressed that the growth and development achieved by the Chamber is a direct result of the sincerity and dedication of human cadres in translating strategies into tangible achievements that serve the business community in the emirate, pointing out that the year 2025 was an exceptional year in the process of institutional excellence, as the Chamber registered new memberships that varied between industrial, commercial and professional activities, which reflects the efficiency of the service system.

Based on the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s belief in the essential role played by the media as a strategic partner in supporting the process of economic development, enhancing transparency and consolidating the culture of achievement, the ceremony witnessed the honoring of a group of media professionals under the slogan “The Media Has a Voice” in appreciation of their contributions and professional efforts in conveying the image of the growing economic mobility in the emirate and highlighting the Chamber’s initiatives, achievements and programs in support of the business community.
