The Health Insurance Council provides health care services to pilgrims from outside the Kingdom, through the health coverage document for pilgrims.

The health coverage document provides health coverage to pilgrims from outside the Kingdom only for emergency cases within 90 days, which is:

Health protection when needed

  • Medical examinations
  • Treatment and medications

Rapid medical intervention

  • Hospital admission
  • Necessary medical services

Coverage for sudden accidents

  • Injuries resulting from traffic accidents

Readiness for exceptional situations

  • Cases associated with Covid-19
  • Dental cases

Health insurance beneficiaries in the Eastern Province

Mandatory health insurance document

The number of basic subscribers to the mandatory health insurance policy reached (10) million beneficiaries, while the number of subordinate beneficiaries reached (4 million) beneficiaries, including (4.5) million Saudi beneficiaries and (9.5) million non-Saudi beneficiaries.

This reflects the Council’s commitment to implementing its strategy as a leading regulatory body in enabling beneficiary-centered health care services based on quality and efficiency, and in a way that contributes to strengthening the commitment to raising insurance coverage rates to reach the community.
