Sharjah Heritage Days concludes its 23rd edition


Sharjah, February 16 / WAM / The activities of the “Sharjah Heritage Days” in its 23rd edition were concluded yesterday evening.
The 2026 edition was distinguished by the activation of the land and sea transportation system, which allowed visitors to reach the event sites easily via buses and water transportation between the marinas in an integrated experience.
This edition witnessed the release of the first postage stamp documenting “Sharjah Heritage Days” in a symbolic step that confirms the presence of the event in the national memory as an established cultural occasion.
The heritage water irrigation tournament also attracted the attention of the public, along with the caravans of horses and camels that toured Heritage Square, presenting live paintings that evoke scenes from ancient life and revive their details in a vibrant festive atmosphere.
The participation of Portugal, the guest of honor at the session, was a remarkable presence through its artistic performances and heritage workshops.
China was also a distinguished guest at the heart of the events, presenting features of its arts, literature, museums and culture.
His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam, President of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, confirmed that the 23rd edition of Sharjah Heritage Days was an extension of a well-established process of preserving heritage and enhancing its presence in society, pointing out that the diversity of programs and initiatives reflects Sharjah’s vision of making heritage a bridge for communication between generations and cultures.
For his part, His Excellency Abu Bakr Al Kindi, Director of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, expressed his pride in the efforts made by the organizing committees and working cadres, praising the role of partners, sponsors and supporting bodies in the success of the event and stressing that what was achieved is the result of cooperation and institutional integration that contributed to presenting a distinguished course by all standards.
The closing ceremony witnessed the honoring of partners, sponsors, organizational committees and volunteers.
