Qatar adopts a 3-and-a-half-hour school session per day during Ramadan

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar announced the official working hours in kindergartens and government schools during the holy month of Ramadan for the academic year 2025-2026, within the framework of organizing the school day in a manner commensurate with the specificity of the holy month, to be three and a half hours long.

According to what was published by the Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq, the work day for students in kindergarten, as well as students in grades one through twelfth, begins at nine in the morning and ends at twelve-thirty in the afternoon.

The Ministry also set the working hours of the administrative and teaching bodies in kindergartens and government schools to start from nine in the morning until one in the afternoon, in order to ensure the continuity of the educational process and provide the appropriate school environment during the holy month.

This organization comes in the context of the preparations of educational institutions in Qatar for the month of Ramadan, in order to achieve a balance between the requirements of the school day and the privacy of the month, and enhance the efficiency of work flow in public schools.
