"A window to a new opportunity".. Iran reveals the developments of the talks with America
Consider Iranian Foreign Minister Tuesday that the talks with United States created "A window to a new opportunity" To end the confrontation between the two countries.
Aims The talksbrokered by the Sultanate of Oman in Geneva aimed to avoid possible US military action against Iran, while Tehran demands the lifting of US sanctions that are paralyzing its economy.
Praised Oman’s efforts, Araqchi said at the Disarmament Conference in Geneva "A window of new opportunity has opened, under which we held the second round of negotiations with the United States earlier today here in Geneva."
Military intervention in Iran
The Iranian Foreign Minister added "We hope that the negotiations will lead to a sustainable negotiated solution that can serve the interests of the parties involved and the region as a whole".
But he stressed that the agreement is viable "It must ensure full recognition of Iran’s legitimate rights in order to achieve tangible benefits, and be immune from unilateral measures".
Before the talks, US President Donald Trump warned of consequences if an agreement was not reached.
Trump has repeatedly threatened to intervene militarily in Iran, first because of the bloody crackdown on demonstrations last month, and then against the backdrop of its nuclear program.
