Cooperation between the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and"Dubai for community contributions" To support entrepreneurs

DUBAI, 18 FEBRUARY / WAM / The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, today announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Dubai Foundation for Community Contributions – JOOD, with the aim of supporting local entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized companies working to achieve sustainability and social impact.

The memorandum aims to build a strategic partnership that supports the launch and expansion of targeted projects. The cooperation focuses on collecting private sector contributions and community contributions exclusively through the “Jood” platform website and application, which facilitates the collection, management, and disbursement of contributions directly in accordance with the approved governance and compliance frameworks.

Maha Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Business Community Interest Support Sector at Dubai Chambers, stressed the commitment to enhancing a business environment that enables projects to flourish, pointing out that the partnership with Jood represents a pivotal step towards building an integrated system for social entrepreneurship in Dubai. Linking impactful projects with financing and vital resources allows the new generation of entrepreneurs to confront the most prominent social and environmental challenges, which strengthens Dubai’s position as a global center for responsible business, and contributes directly to achieving the sustainable development goals within the Dubai Economic Agenda “D33”.

For his part, His Excellency Marwan Rashid bin Hashem, CEO of the Dubai Foundation for Community Contributions – Jood, said that the Foundation seeks, through its digital platforms, to provide transparent, easy-to-access and reliable channels to support initiatives and projects that meet the real needs of society, and to enable social entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into a tangible and sustainable impact.

He explained that this cooperation comes within the framework of the Foundation’s commitment to building an integrated system that enhances the partnership between society and the private sector, and contributes to supporting a more comprehensive, innovative and sustainable economy, in line with the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the emirate’s vision for a future based on positive impact and sustainable development.

Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate on relevant initiatives, facilitating access to opportunities that support the achievement of positive social and environmental outcomes; The cooperation will also focus on encouraging stakeholder participation through coordinated efforts to communicate and raise awareness, exchange public information and insights to enhance transparency, and take advantage of the resources and channels available to each party to raise awareness and support initiatives.
