Khalifa University joins "Digital Education Council" Global
ABU DHABI, February 19, 2017 (WAM) – Khalifa University of Science and Technology announced today that it has joined the Digital Education Council, a global community of institutions specialized in promoting sustainable innovation and accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies in the higher education sector and workforce development.
As a member of the Digital Education Council, Khalifa University will have access to exclusive resources and collaborative opportunities, enabling it to connect with leading global institutions and digital education specialists.
The Digital Education Council, launched by Supercharger Ventures, the world’s largest educational technology accelerator, brings together leading institutions, industry leaders and experts to expand access to innovative resources, encourage knowledge sharing and support innovation in the education sector.
Professor Bayan Sharif, Academic President of Khalifa University, said that the university’s joining the “Digital Education Council” reflects its continued commitment to innovation, cooperation, and responsible reliance on emerging technologies, as technologies, such as artificial intelligence, contribute to supporting its contribution to the country’s innovation agenda, which includes advanced engineering and the commercialization of research and graduate studies.
He added that this membership contributes to supporting Khalifa University’s strategic priorities with regard to educational excellence, innovation and global participation, and provides the opportunity to access international research, pioneering initiatives and collaborative work groups that enhance institutional capabilities in digital education, ensure quality and develop the capabilities of members of academic bodies.
